Jenny in "Arose"

Jenny will perform together with Magnus Rosen, Imre Daun, Emrik Larsson and Glen Sandgren under the new bandname Arose on the filmfestival in Gothenburg today. Jenny will sing as a backgroundsinger in the choir. If Jenny will be a certain part of this band is not known. Aftonbladet annonced, that an album is recorded and should be released in Germany and Asia.

In another article Aftonbladet reported about the new album of Ace of Base and that Linn will have her comeback. furthermore the new album should have a style like the first album of Ace of Base. If these information are true or only just a rumour - that we will see in the future, but one is for sure: Linn will be more in the front as in the last 2 albums.

Jennys Appearance

Jenny had a performance on 15th and 16th January in Gislaved together with Jakob and the Gislaved Symphony Orchestra. Jenny sang "This Is Why I Sing To You" too. In an interview with fans of Ace of Base Jenny announced:

- the new songs were recorded at "The Barn"
- Jennys first solo album will be a combination between Jakob and Jenny
- 4 Songs are ready
- the new Ace of Base-album has the style of Flowers
- Malin will be back as on the Happy Nation era
- Jenny will perform during the filmfestival with Magnus Rosen in February

Ulf in Thailand

During the flood catastrophe in South-East-Asia is mentioned all over the world! And Ulf Ekberg was in Thailand on vacation at this time! Expressen announced, that Ulf and some other celebrities were on a Benefit New Year Gala in Pukhet to help the victims. They had to give 2500 SEK to be on this gala and all the money goes to the victims. Ulf said in an interview, that he wants to stay there as long as he can help!

Jenny and her husband Jakob will give 4 concerts together with the Gislaved Symphony Orchestra on the Gislaved concerthall. They wrote 2 songs, which will be performed on these concerts. The dates are:

Sara tried to contact the scandinavian label Playgroundmusic to get new and more information about Ace of Base and their forthcoming album! The label confirmed, that the release is planned for the spring/summer next year and formed by the management and the band. Furthermore the label expect the first demo-tape in the early next year!

Now Jenny is officialy listed as an artist on the United Stage Management: "Jenny [...] has started her solo project. Jenny is currently in the studio writing material for the forthcoming yet not titled debut album."

Ace of Base is planning a new album

Fantastic news for the fans of Ace of Base! A new album is planned with a release in the summer of 2005. Till now there are 8 songs as a base for the new album! Read the official notes of Lasse Karlsson:

The summer really never came to Sweden this year so I sure hope that it’ll be a fantastic summer next.

Yesterday I went down to Gothenburg together with Tommy Ekman (who produced Don’t turn around, Life is a flower and more) for Ace of Base.
And we had an all night sit-down with Jonas “Joker” Berggren, discussing production styles and listing to 18 new songs by the Joker. It was fun! It was really nice to listen to the music; it felt like the old days.

In the end we could unite on eight songs that most likely will be the foundation of the next album and if all planning’s are going the way we now want them to go.
We will start the recording of the new studio album in the end of September.

As soon as there is new information to give you all around the soon to be recording, I will keep you posted.

Hello Acer’s, I have seen on your notes that you are wondering about when the new studio album could be released. Actually there is no date fixed as it is now. But we have an internal target that we are working towards and that is to have an album out in the stores around the globe before the summer time 2005. This will off course be released on the back of one or two singles, that’ll be released in the early spring and forward.

Ace of Base in Chart-Shows

Ace of Base was mentioned on various chart-shows in Germany! First they were one of the most prominent bands in Germany! They reached No. 17 on the Chart-Show on RTL at 23rd August. Furthermore they were No. 4 on the show "Die Hitgiganten" on the german channel SAT.1 with the song All That She Wants" at 06th September! The videoclip to the "Hitgiganten" will be online next time...

The german tv-channel SAT.1 will continue his successful show "Die Hitgiganten" - the theme of the show on 9th Sepember will be the Nineties! There will be appearances from the old 90-stars like Dr. Alban, Scooter or U96 and video-clips with comments of prominents - Ace of Base is one of the video-acts with the song "All That She Wants". The show will start at 8.15 pm german time.

offizielles Statement

Lasse Karlsson published an official statement to the current situation of Ace of Base:

"Time for the management to come clear about some roomers! Dear everyone, time’s running and we have not been giving you any updates or feedback for some time now. I’m sorry for this and will try to update you on some things that I have understood been up in the air for discussion some time now! First of all, the band Ace of Base, do exist and are live and well. The band consists as always of the siblings Jenny, Jonas, Linn Berggren and Ulf Ekberg! They have not been breaking up nor have any of the members left the band for other stuff. So so when that now is said… Jenny is currently doing charity work around Sweden, singing concerts for the church, Jonas is as always writing songs, raising his two kids and Linn is living a life outside the spotlight and enjoying that. Ulf moved from Spain to England some years ago and is now actively working in a company that are developing business strategies between entertainment and trademarks, on the side of his writing and producing. Happy news is that Ulf will become a father in late September. So I presume that between the businesses he will become the master of diapers. = ) “congratulations to Ulf and his girlfriend Joanna”

We been discussion a new album, but we have not moved further in to recordings. There is a material written, and hopefully there will be a structure of recording soon that I could present to you. One thing that could stress these recording is that you Acers, request the band as much as possible to Universal Music in Germany!!! And then something surprising…. Since some time there’s been some roomers about performances with Ace of Base! I can tell you that, yes infect we been talking to various promoters in Russia and the Baltic stats for some exclusive performances. Still we have not finalized any date yet so it’s still pending! If this will happened, I don’t know. I do think that this will be happening sometime in the autumn. I do hope that I could come back to you with some preliminary scheduling soon. Until next time! Ulf will be a father

Now it is time - Ulf and Johanna Aybar will be parents! The lucky couple is expecting the child in September this year. Ulf`s hope: it should be a son. Right now Ulf is living in London and Johanna in Stockholm - for sure only a little problem for both.

Like reported, Jenny was interested do record the song Efharisto. An acer contacted the producer-team behind the song and got the answer, that the song was offered to 3 artists ... Jenny and Bosson were 2 of them! In the end Bosson got this song.

Jenny with a Bosson-Cover?

There are rumours, that Jenny has recorded her own version of the song "Efharisto" from the swedish artist Bosson. First she wanted to perform with this song at the European Song Contest selection in Sweden, but she didn`t. Futhermore she should be working with Douglas Carr on her first solo-album.

More, small updates to Jennys solo-project were given - here they are: Jenny Berggrens management is the same as management of Ace of Base, the United Stage Management Group ... Her manager is Lasse Karlsson. Furthermore she has a collaboration with Martin Hedström from LaCarr for her first solo-album. The swedish singer Emilia ("Big Big World") will perform "All That She Wants" on the comeback-show on the german TV-channel ProSieben! The show will give the opportunity for "old" starts from the music-business to start a new successful career! Beside Emilia there are stars like Coolio or Haddaway ... The show will start 8.15 pm german time at 27th February 2004! The current show has the theme "Disco and Dance"!

"Hello.

I´m sending greetings from our cold Swedish country. Today it´s below zero and the white snow keeps out eyes from popping out of our heads in search for the poor light shining upon us. Snow reflects the light wonderfully; else it is very dark outside. To get warm in this chilly part of the winter we have a great tradition of gathering in cafés and coffeehouses, a type of cosiness that carries the light within us when we don’t have it outside.
 

I and Linn are experts on drinking coffee at this moment. Jonas is away on holidays and Ulf are also away, working on one of his projects. Last I heard he was in South America, I think it was in Brazil.He says it´s warmer there. I believe him.

Jenny with solo-album

The manager of Ace of Base, Lasse Karlsson, gave some news to the fans:

"... the planes around Ace of Base are currently nothing more then the fact that we are due to release Hey Darling to radio in Scandinavia. When the dates for this is, I could not tell. As I have not got it firm from EDEL/Playground that is the main company behind the release plan. [...] Jenny will focus for her solo album due this upcoming spring. But the band will most likely meet up and discuss more activities in the end of next year."

Jonas at LaCarr

Jonas Berggren joined to the team of LaCarr as a songwriter and producer. LaCarr was founded from Lasse Karlsson, the manager of Ace of Base, and Douglas Carr, producer of Ace of Base. LaCarr got enough attention with the success of Ace of Base! Here the statement to Jonas on the site of LaCarr:

The japanese pop-duo Twill will cover the Ace of Base-song "Into The Night Of Blue". The song was released as an album-track of "Cruel Summer" in Japan and as a b-side of the single "Cruel Summer" in Scandinavia. This information was given through the LaCarr-studios, which were founded by Lasse Karlsson, the manager of Ace of Base and Douglas Carr, a famous producer, who has worked on many songs of Ace of Base ... "Into The Nicht Of Blue" was written by Jonas Berggren, Diane Warren and Douglas Carr!

"Sadly enough we have to announce that we were forced to end the Hannah K project entirely due to external chaotic circumstances in the music bussiness. Unfortunally it was not in our own power to turn this decision into another and better direction. JONAS"

Funkstar De Luxe-Remix

The french website of Ace of Base got the possible to listen to the new remix of "All That She Wants", done by Funkstar De Luxe, called "Funkstar's Lying On The Beach And Having Fun De Luxe Mix", and put it online for a first listening to you. The release-date is not known till now, but the remix was an order of Universal Music Germany.

More Remixes

Voodoo & Serano and more DJs are working or worked on new remixes for Ace of Base! For the first all was focused to the song "All That She Wants" - the danish DJ-star Funkstar De Luxe did a new remix of "All That She Wants" too. Furthermore Voodoo and Serano did after the club-mix new mixes from the song too. Acoording to the Polydor Island Group there is no fixed schedule for a release of these new remixes.
